Prince of Peace Catholic Church
Kearney, NE
PROJECT
Prince of Peace Catholic Church
DESCRIPTION
This Romanesque style church rooted in the Nebraska landscape originated as a field cut limestone exterior façade. However, after the initial reviews, a precast structure simulating the field cut stone at the base with alternating bands of simulated masonry and cut stone became the right choice due to budget and creativity. With the limited budget and winter timeframe for installation, nearly 30,000 SF and 192 pieces of acid etch buff colored precast wall panels were provided. These panels utilized customized form liners that were nearly 3” thick to create the look and feel of a true stone and masonry project. Precast trim pieces were also utilized on the exterior and interior of the project such as the Baptismal Font, Pulpit, and the Altar.
